I am almost done with the void chest particles... touching the settings up a bit, then I will post it.
Ok, so I added particles that go towards the void chest. Replace the void chest mod:
with the new version:
I tested it on singleplayer, and fine-tuned the speed, quantity and rotation of the particles. It looks pretty neat. No bugs as far as I can tell. Chests that already exist in the world probably will not spawn particles until dug and replaced.
I edited the readme to include the license for the pics and indicate that I made changes to init.lua

Do you think you can make the texture 16x16. It looks too compressed or low-fidelity in my opinion. Other than that, this is really nice. Most minetest textures are 16x16.
I just up-scaled the 8x8 one, it scaled well. But the animated ones look very blurry.
The 8x8 one is not used. look at it in-game, it looks nice I think. feel free to modify the pics as needed

The animted one was nice but too blurry. The textures you keep making have interpolation (blurry spots when zooming in). What editor are you using? I use GIMP and zoom in to work on textures. In game I can notice them too and it triggers me :)
I used a version with the 8x8 that scaled perfectly to 16x16 for now. I adjusted a bunch of stuff in the meta and recipes and made it a bit harder to craft. Also removed the hard dependency with magic_materials and used that if statement i was talking about. I've posted it to Minetest WIP forum and will await feedback. I'm a bit tired now tonight from working on this and will try to implement the animation again tomorrow. I can clean up this version of the textures you shared. Seems easier to work on than the other one in it before. I was impressed with it when I saw it but it was just too blurry to accept.
hmm, I use gimp too, but I used the rotation tool, that made it blurry. Ok, so I will make a new animation from scratch, and plan it out properly.

I used the rotate tool still, but then I drew over the blurriness with black, and then copied by color to just get the solid pixels. Then I copied to a new picture, pasted the solid pixels, and then colorized it
I really liked the spinning animation... I hope you can find an animation that suits well, whether its mine or one you make or find
I had the same problem yesterday. When you use the rotate tool, there is a section in the left that appears.. set it to none

I need to finalize coins immediately since it already made it into a saras_simple update by mistake. then i will take a look before starting work on the crops

updated. coins basic implementation is in I think it is too simple.. I would like some sort of workshop or that anvil & hammer idea we discussed before. But I'm looking at crops now. I may come back to this next.
